pre-registered for an upcoming election, the county clerk must receive your
voter registration card postmarked no later than the 25th day prior to an
election. If you miss the deadline to pre-register, you can still register at
the polls on election day.
Montana—You must
register 30 days prior to an election. Any registered voter may vote by absentee
ballot, even if he or she is capable of voting in person on Election Day.
Applications are available during a period beginning 75 days before Election Day
and ending on the day before the election.
Oregon—You must
register 21 days prior to an election. Statewide primary and general elections
are held. Each person registered to vote is automatically sent a vote-by-mail
ballot at least 19 days before the election. Anyone registered to vote in Oregon
may ask for an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots are available by written
request 45 days before an election. If you vote absentee, you must return the
ballot to the county elections officer by 8:00 p.m. on election day. You can
return the ballot by mail or hand-delivery.
